Welcome to the Greener Homes Grant Initiative

Greener homes are coming to Hamilton, Brantford, Niagara, and Halton and Green Venture is here to guide your retrofit journey!

The federal government’s Canada Greener Homes Grant is an exciting step in the right direction to help Canada reduce our greenhouse gas emissions from buildings – a major contributor at 18% of Canada’s total emissions – and the home is a great place for Canadians to start.

The initiative offers homeowners up to $5,000 to make energy efficient retrofits to their home. Additionally, the Grant covers up to $600 for EnerGuide evaluations and expert advice that guide the retrofit planning and implementation process.

Eligible retrofits include:

  • Home insulation (Up to $5,000)
  • Air-sealing (Up to $1,000)
  • Windows and doors upgrades (Up to $5,000)
  • Thermostats (Up to $50)
  • Heating (Up to $5,000)
  • Renewable energy systems (Up to $5,000)
  • Resiliency measures (Up to $2,625)
