Green Venture is excited to be apart of the Rehabilitation of Dundas Valley School of Arts Public Gardens Project this fall. DVSA is located in the heart of Dundas, with front outdoor space enjoyed by students, staff and many Dundas neighbors. Recently DVSA received funding from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario to put in a native species garden which will encourage native pollinators and create a beautiful greenspace for everyone to enjoy.
In partnership with Three Season Landscaping and DVSA, Green Venture invites you to be apart of this transformation and help plant native species at the site on September 24 (Rain Day: September 25). The ground will have been prepared (tilled and supplemented) so there will be no deep digging. The day will be for planting the beautiful variety of plants chosen by Candy Venning of Venni Gardens. When the planting is complete, we will be spreading some mulch to assist with preventing weeds and moisture retention.
What to Bring / Wear: Be sure to wear closed-toed shoes and long pants. Bring a reusable water bottle to refill inside the school. We will provide garden gloves, hand shovels, and other tools. Please feel free to bring your own gloves and tools.
Transportation + Parking: Green Venture encourages active and sustainable transportation. Bus stops are nearby the sites include routes 05 and 52. Some on-street metered parking is available nearby.
