Green Gardening Volunteer
Are you looking for an opportunity to get outside this fall, learn about gardening, or try something new? Our EcoHouse is 2 acres of native plant gardens, rain gardens, a community vegetable garden, demonstration eco-lawn patches, permeable pavers, and more. These grounds require a lot of maintenance and upkeep! We had such a successful turnout this past summer, that we’ve decided to extend our weekly EcoHouse Stewardship opportunities into the fall! Our green gardening volunteers assist in gardening or landscaping projects or other things at the EcoHouse education centre site.
Volunteers will:
- Make a tangible difference in our local ecosystem by contributing to its preservation
- Beautify EcoHouse pathway areas by removing weeds
- Assist in the ongoing beautification of EcoHouse garden and forest area, by helping create habitats that support local wildlife
- Help maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of ecoHouse by participating in litter clean-ups
Rainy Days:
On rainy days, volunteers will help support our environmental initiatives such as seed sorting, which helps to promote native plant growth.
Please dress appropriately for the weather. If you can no longer attend the event after registering, please alert stewardship@greenventure.ca as soon as possible!
This weekly event will start on Wednesday, September 11th, 2024.
Please be sure to complete our waiver HERE!
