Our high school co-op student Emily wrapped up placement at Green Venture early this week. During Emily’s time at Green Venture she worked with the gardening team growing seedlings and helping in the gardens. This photo essay was created by Emily to highlight some of her favorite vegetables that she grew and how gardening has made an impact in her life. We are so inspired to see how one seed sown can have such a great impact on well-being and relationship building. We wish Emily success in her future endeavors and are confident that she will continue to grow and make great strides on her journey.

During my time at Green Venture I have done so many amazing things. Being apart of all the event they they have had has been such a amazing experience. i have always been a shy person and being here has helped me out of my shell a little bit. they have always tried and push to get better at things. While being here at Green Venture i have actually started my own garden at home it has cucumber, tomatoes, peppers, chives and cilantro. All of it is doing amazing and they are getting so big. I am planning to make my garden bigger next year plant more things that I didn’t try this year. My mom seems to be liking it to so it gives me something else to have quality time with her.”
