We are gearing up for another great summer at Green Venture, and we’re excited to introduce the summer students for 2021 who will be supporting us along the way! Our team this year brings together a diverse set of academic backgrounds, interests in many areas of environmentalism, and skillsets. The team is so excited to get started and to connect with the Hamilton-Wentworth community across a variety of new projects and programs.

Environmental Education Assistants
Liesel K-M., Environmental Education Assistant
Liesel comes to Green Venture with a bachelor’s degree in Drama in Education and the Community. She has a strong passion for community education and empowering youth to make change in themselves and the world as a whole. A lover of nature, her favourite place to be is in the forest . She is excited to join the Green Venture team as an environmental education assistant and connect with the community.Carla A., Environmental Education Assistant
Carla recently graduated from McMaster University with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy. She is currently studying to obtain both a JD and BCL at the McGill Faculty of Law and is most interested in the future intersection of Immigration Law and Environmental Law. Carla looks forward to teaching and learning from community members on the topics of environmentally conscious living and sustainable urban development.Communications Assistant
Alexandra H., Communications Assistant
Alexandra is a new graduate of Queen’s University with a degree in Psychology and English Literature. She will be attending the University of Waterloo in the fall to begin the Master of Climate Change program (MCC). Alexandra has developed a long-standing interest in plant-based living and understanding the role that sustainability plays within our lives as consumers. After completing a previous summer internship with Green Venture, she has also developed a strong interest in understanding the role of urban agriculture within our community, sustainability in the food industry, and sharing educational information on these topics.

Rebecca M., Landscape Gardener
Rebecca is finishing up an undergraduate degree in Geography and Environmental Science. Rebecca played on the McMaster varsity volleyball team from 2017-2021 and has been a volleyball assistant coach over the past 2 years with Hamilton Mountain Volleyball Club and Defensa Volleyball Club. I love spending time outdoors, hiking, fishing, camping, biking and running. I love to travel and want to continue to see the world, with my absolute favourite place I’ve visited so far being Austria.
