Green Venture is excited to announce that pre-orders for our 2021 Herb Planter & Seedling Sale are now open! This year, we have two offerings available for order. These include a mixed planter pot with herbs, greens, and edible flowers, perfect for a porch or balcony. We are also offering several heirloom varieties of tomatoes. All of our seedlings are grown in certified organic potting mix.
All funds from the Herb Planter & Seedling Sale will be used to support Green Venture’s gardening and environmental education programming to continue to make our community greener. Be sure to place your order quickly, as quantities are limited!
Over the past year, we have seen a wonderful increase in enthusiasm for home gardening and urban agriculture as we have all come to spend more time outside and to care about where our food comes from. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or brand new to planting, the Green Venture Herb Planter & Seedling Sale is a great opportunity to purchase herbs and seedlings to help you grow at home!
Offerings:
1. A mixed herb, greens, and edible flower container grown with certified organic potting mix in a reusable, 7 gallon collapsible “Grassroots” fabric pot. Pots will include a mix of the following: thyme, oregano, dill, parsley, cilantro, basil, lettuce, nasturtium, and calendula. Price: $50/container
2. Tomato seedlings, grown in organic potting mix.
Price: Suggested donation: $3-5/plant

3. A 6 pack of basil seedlings, a mix of varieties, grown in organic potting mix.
Price: suggested donation $5-7 a pack.
Basil, is an annual herb of the mint family (Lamiaceae), grown for its aromatic leaves.
It is widely grown as a kitchen herb.
The leaves are used fresh or dried to flavour meats, fish, salads, and sauces.
Pick-up dates and locations for seedling orders are as follows:
Mustard Seed Co-op: Friday May 14th 11:30 am – 12:30 pm
Green Venture Eco-House: Saturday May 15th 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
To place your order, complete our form by clicking here and indicating your choices. Payments can be made by sending an e-transfer to director@greenventure.ca. No password required. Please write ‘seedling sale’ in the notes section when you complete your e-transfer. Alternative forms of payment can be arranged upon request. All orders and payments must be received by May 8th. Orders are first come first served, while quantities last.
