Join us for this fantastic event that brings together a wonderful community of like minded vendors, environmental groups, and local organizations. As always our goal is to host the community seed exchange, promote sustainable and local products and practices and share knowledge through workshops and presentations. Seedy Saturday is the ‘go to’ place for anyone and everyone interested in backyard gardening, edible gardening, pollinator gardens, sustainability, heirloom and organic seed supplies and more! Join us to enjoy a wide range of vendors and exhibitors.

This event will celebrate gardening in Hamilton with a public event focused on sustainable, local practices and products including:

  • Seed Exchange
  • Seed and garden supply vendors selling quality seeds with heritage and heirloom varieties
  • Free garden workshops and educational demonstrations throughout the day
  • Opportunities for meeting and networking with other gardeners and experts
  • Children’s activities

1. Active Transportation:
Bus Routes:
Any bus that stops at the MacNab Street Terminal and/or at King & James St
HSR 7 – Locke EB @ Bus Stop # 2986HSR 8 – York EB @ Bus Stop # 2986HSR 4 – Bayfront EB @ Bus Stop # 1014The MacNab bus terminal is a short walk through Jackson Square

Bike racks: 

Located in front of the Market just west of the York Boulevard entrance, next to the Hamilton Public Library. A Hamilton Bike Share hub is located just steps away from the York Boulevard entrance.

2. Parking:
Public parking lots are located in the immediate vicinity. Free 1 Hr public parking is available at the York Boulevard Parkette
OTHER PARKING
Other nearby parking lots can be found at: 96 James St North, 80 Main St West, 14 Vine St, 106 Bay St North, 22 Bay St North at King St West.

Directions From Toronto:Take Highway 401 to Highway 403.
Exit at York Boulevard.
Follow York Boulevard past Bay Street and FirstOntario Centre.
Library is on the right-hand side.From Niagara Falls:Take QEW Westbound to Highway 403, Hamilton
Exit at York Boulevard.
Follow York Boulevard past Bay Street and FirstOntario Centre.
Library is on the right-hand side.From Brantford:Take Highway 403 to Hamilton.
Exit at Main Street East.
Follow Main Street to Bay Street.
Turn left onto Bay Street.
Follow Bay Street to York Boulevard and turn right past FirstOntario Centre

  • Seed Sorting Social 

Green Venutre will host a Seed Sorting Party on Monday, January 16th, 2023, 6 – 8 PM at Eco House 22 Veevers Drive Hamilton, ON L8K 5P5 🌱

Please join the staff of Green Venture for an evening of seed sorting and socializing. We are asking folks from the community to lend a hand in organizing seeds for the free seed exchange at Seedy Saturday Hamilton, happening on February 4th, 2023 at the Central Library. Bring any locally harvested, heirloom, or native seeds to donate, or just show up and join in.

This year’s Seedy Saturday was a great success!  Our attendance was the highest ever recorded for a Hamilton Seedy Saturday with 832 people.  That is almost 200 people more than last year!
