Living Land Acknowledgement at EcoHouse – Request for Proposals
Hamilton, Ont.—November 18, 2022— Green Venture invites submissions from Indigenous artists to develop a Living Land Acknowledgement (garden art/mural/structure etc.) that will be installed at the grounds of Glen Manor (EcoHouse), located in East Hamilton, Stoney Creek.

About the Project
Green Venture, in collaboration with Kahnekanoron, and with support from Canada Healthy Communities Initiative, a Federal government program via the Community Foundations of Canada, is creating a Living Land Acknowledgement at EcoHouse (22 Veevers Drive, Hamilton). The installation is intended to support meaningful reconciliation and recognize Indigenous peoples’ history and culture.
The installation is part of a larger project to create a Children’s Naturescape at EcoHouse which provides enhanced community greenspace for healthy outdoor play, nature exploration, and environmental learning.
The successful artist or collective will receive a $4,000 honorarium. Additional funding of up to $4,500 (including any taxes) will be provided to cover project material costs.
