Akira Ourique
– Environmental Education Program Coordinator

Akira has a diploma in horticulture and a masters in chicken wrangling. He strives to build community between Green Venture and Hamilton’s people and organizations. Akira works with kids and youth on the education team as an educator and mentor. He is deeply passionate about food sovereignty and accessibility, mutual aid, skill-sharing, and solidarity across environmentalism. In his free time, Akira enjoys volunteering, foraging for herbs and mushrooms with friends, and hiking. His vision is a more inclusive Hamilton; with shady trees, community fridges, public benches, and water fountains.
