Thank you for a wonderful 2023! Green Venture worked with community members to:
- Complete three “depave” projects
- Plant over 2050 trees in Hamilton and 1334 native plants in the community
- Sell over 568 native plants
- Save over 53 seed varieties
- Destroy more than 4,425 spongy moth eggs
- Collect over 5.8k pieces of litter
- Swap over 1,532 items of clothing
- Deliver more than 253 educational workshops
- Complete 14 deep energy retrofits
- and more!
Our work is possible because of many funders, volunteers, our dedicated staff, community leaders, and YOU! Each interaction and conversation contributes to the fabric of our community. Green Venture was started in 1994 and our strategic priorities are to:
- Reduce climate vulnerability and impacts in our community by supporting the implementation of lot-level green infrastructure which filters water and reduces runoff,
- Engage residents to make their day to day lives greener to reduce emissions, and
- Work with Hamilton youth to drive climate action.
We have a local focus and actively engage the community through events, workshops, and educational programs.
