Why Rain Barrels?
Rain barrels offer a simple yet effective way to conserve water and reduce runoff. By collecting rainwater, they provide a free and sustainable source of water for gardens, lawns, and even household chores like washing cars. This reduces the strain on municipal water supplies and helps mitigate flooding and erosion caused by excessive runoff.
Moreover, rain barrels align perfectly with Green Venture’s mission of promoting sustainable living and environmental stewardship. By encouraging individuals and communities to adopt rainwater harvesting practices, Green Venture aims to reduce water waste and foster a deeper connection with nature.
Let’s work together to make a positive impact and create a more sustainable world for all.

Supporting Green Venture
The purchase of rain barrels as a fundraiser for Green Venture programs serves multiple purposes. Firstly, it raises essential funds to support initiatives such as tree planting, creating more green spaces, and developing educational programs. These activities not only benefit the local environment but also contribute to a more sustainable and resilient community.
In 2023, Green Venture planted 2050 trees and over 1300 native plants around the Hamilton area. Rainwater diversion is a key part of Green Venture’s activities. Through depave and home rebate programs that promote green infrastructure, roughly 450,000 gallons of rainwater were diverted from Hamilton’s stormwater system.
Secondly, promoting the use of rain barrels encourages sustainable practices among community members. It fosters a sense of responsibility towards water conservation and empowers individuals to take tangible actions to protect the environment.
