Our repair cafe is back! This time as a part of Green Venture’s Clean Air Day event.
What is a Repair Cafe?
The cafe is an opportunity for Hamilton community members to bring in damaged items and have them repaired by menders for FREE!
This year we’re offering mends to:
- Clothing
- Textiles
- Yarn Items
- Electronics
- Tools
- Woodwork
- Small Appliances
- Bikes (tentative)
Have an item you need fixed that’s not listed? Fill out the form below and we’ll see if we can match you with a mender or make recommendations on how you can get the item repaired.
What is Clean Air Day?
Clean Air Day is a national day to discuss air quality. Green Venture runs an annual event to raise awareness, bring the community together, and offer family friendly activities, including the repair cafe!
When?
Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
Where?
Hamilton Public Library Central Branch on the 4th floor.
Who?
Community volunteers with a range of mending skills will be available. This event is open to attend for all Hamiltonians. If you wish to have an item looked at, be sure to sign up using the form below!
Why?
The repair cafe allows you to extend items’ lives instead of replacing them with something new. This reduces waste and positively impacts the environment.
How can I sign up?
Fill out the repair request form!
Sign ups must be done before Friday, May 31st. The repair cafe is first come first serve so be sure to get your items in asap. Be sure to provide as many details as possible for our menders, so they have the information they need to give your items a new life. If you know your item needs replacement parts, please bring them with you and our menders will do their best to get them installed. All of our menders are volunteers who will do their best to restore your items to the best condition possible but we can not guarantee any fixes.
