Just because it’s cold out, doesn’t mean that we can’t appreciate the beauty of our green spaces!
On November 26th 2023, Green Venture launched the Urban Gardening Club. We had a great group come out to our first meeting where we enjoyed cookies, urban gardening trivia, and getting to know one another in the beautiful, local Bakery and Plant Shop: Pinch.
The Urban Gardening Club offers a unique mix of workshops, volunteer opportunities, and experiential community opportunities. All of our activities will have a focus on incorporating environmentally-conscious practices into urban gardening. Workshops are bi-weekly and usually in the format of an informal presentation followed by an interactive activity. Meanwhile, volunteer opportunities are self-led and self-paced. The volunteer opportunities offer members the chance to participate in urban gardening by maintaining community green spaces. In the future, Green Venture will host outings in Hamilton with our club members. These may include things such as stewardship events, tree and garden plantings, litter blitzes, bird and nature walks, and visits to events like Seedy Saturday!

We offer flexibility in our dates, so that you can find a time that works well for you. Everyone is welcome! If you would like to get involved, please do so. We are committed to making this an inclusive space.
Beginners will have lots to learn from the Urban Gardening Club, while seasoned gardeners will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and also share the value of their experience with the group.
