Help us take care of green spaces around the city. With weekly events throughout the month of May, there are opportunities for gardeners of all ages to be involved and get their hands in the dirt.

Youth-Led Seedling Sale
A variety of ready-to-plant herb & veggie seedlings will be available for purchase. Funds raised will be used to empower youth by supporting Youth Power for Climate Justice & Green Venture youth programs.

Join us in bringing more green space to Ottawa St as we add plants to the alley at Laidlaw United Church on May 11th from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
Plant Swap
Bring your indoor plants, clippings, seeds, gardening tools & more to this plant and gardening swap at the parking lot of Laidlaw United Church. The plant swap will be held alongside Sew Hungry, so expect a bustling Ottawa St.

Purple Haze
Presented with Bird Friendly Hamilton Burlington and the Hamilton Naturalists’ Club.
Bruce Mackenzie, recipient of the J.R. Dymond Public Service Award from Ontario Nature for his work at the Grimsby Wetlands, will present a slideshow on the establishment of Purple Martin housing.

Open Streets Hamilton
Walk, cycle, roll and play along the 3.6km corridor from John St to Gage Ave while enjoying dozens of activities from community partners along the route.
