“Do you offer any school programs in French?” We have heard this question many times at the Green Venture Education Department. We are so excited to now offer the “Power to Change” in-class activity kit for teachers, in the French language!
Green Venture has had the privilege to host many students from french speaking classrooms, as they come to EcoHouse to take part in a school tour. Consistently the teaching staff have expressed the need for environmental education in the French language. Thanks in part to funding from the City of Hamilton Community Enrichment Fund, we have taken the first step towards meeting that need. Our “Power to Change” campaign includes a free, in class activity kit for teachers to borrow. They can use this as follow up activities to a “Power to Change” presentation, or as a supplement to classroom learning about energy conservation and climate change. Funding has allowed us to translate the Activity Kit, offering it in both English and French. This will allow all schools in Hamilton to access these educational activities in their own language.
